What if the things you desire most—love, peace, abundance, purpose—aren’t just things you chase… but who you already are?
We’re often taught that the good life is something “out there.” Something to be earned, proven, or achieved. But lately, through the people we meet and the lives we touch, we’re realizing something much more profound:
We are already it.
We are the love.
We are the light.
We are the abundance.
We are the very miracle we’ve been seeking.
This truth became crystal clear during a walk along the lake in Toronto. It was one of those simple, perfect days. The sun was warm, the breeze soft, and the city alive with soul. Sackeria stopped near Aqualuna—a dream building we once envisioned living in—and a curious dog came up to her as if it had something to say.
Turns out, it did.
That dog belonged to Jasmine.
She stopped to chat, and the next few moments unfolded into something deeper than coincidence. Jasmine shared her journey—12 years of medication, numbness, depression… and finally, her awakening. Her decision to choose herself. To go to the gym. To eat nourishing food. To feel the pain and release it. To live.
Tears welled up as she spoke—not because it was sad, but because it was true.
Because it was human.
Jasmine asked that question during their conversation. Not as a threat, but as an invitation. A loving nudge to ask:
“Don’t you want them to be good years?”
She wasn’t just speaking to Sackeria.
She was speaking to all of us.
To the parts of us still holding on to excuses.
To the tired, numb, or discouraged versions of ourselves.
To the one hiding behind perfectionism, fear, or pain.
To the soul who forgot they deserve the best—not because they earned it, but because they are it.
Jasmine’s partner, JC, soon joined the conversation. A man who had been through abuse, but turned his pain into purpose. He wrote a book. He’s helping others. He’s still healing, still becoming. And in that, he’s already whole.
The two of them reminded us of something divine:
Healing doesn’t always come wrapped in comfort.
Sometimes, healing comes through fire.
Just like the story of Eden. When Adam and Eve left the garden, it wasn’t punishment—it was preparation. The sword of fire at the entrance wasn’t to block us forever. It was to remind us: to return to the garden, we must pass through the fire.
Through challenges. Through transformation. Through the sacred becoming.
And when we do, we don’t just return—we see the garden with new eyes. We recognize the light. We become the light.
Maybe your story doesn’t involve depression, abuse, or weight loss.
But your story does involve healing.
Your story involves moments where you’ve had to choose yourself again.
To believe again.
To start again.
And just like JC and Jasmine, you are a walking testimony.
You are proof that love is real. That gratitude changes things. Miracles are unfolding even in the mundane.
Before you go…
Take a moment for yourself.
Breathe in.
Feel your heartbeat.
Remember your body.
Let the miracle of being here now wash over you.
You’ve come so far.
And you’re not alone on the path.
This is what the Grateful Souls movement is about:
Sharing gratitude worldwide.
One person. One story. One breath at a time.
So we ask you gently:
What’s something you’ve overcome that you’re now grateful for?
Drop it in the comments, or simply sit with it in silence. Let it fill you with quiet joy. 🙏
With love and gratitude,
Alex and Sackeria Dezan
