Always choose love now.
I know—that’s easier said than done.
There are moments when the heart wants to open, but the ego wants to fight. Moments when you feel frustration rise, when someone close to you doesn’t see things your way, and all you want to do is push back.
We’ve been there. Honestly, we’re there often.
And yet, these are the moments that matter most. These are the places where our egos clash, where our pride is tested, where love doesn’t come as easily as it does when things are smooth.
But it’s in these raw, unpolished, messy moments that we are given the chance to practice love.
Not love as an idea. Not love as a pretty word.
Love as a choice.
Sometimes one of us has a plan. The other has a different idea. Neither wants to bend.
The truth is, we both have egos. We both carry pride. We both have moments of wanting to be right.
But the gift of relationship—whether it’s with your partner, your friend, or even yourself—is that every disagreement becomes an invitation:
Will you close your heart, or will you open it?
Choosing love doesn’t mean changing how someone else feels. It doesn’t mean suppressing your truth. It simply means opening your heart instead of shutting it.
Sometimes that looks like going with the flow instead of clinging to control. Sometimes it looks like pausing long enough to remember: this moment isn’t about winning—it’s about connecting.
Here’s what we’ve discovered:
Gratitude doesn’t just live in the joyful moments. It doesn’t just show up when things go well. Gratitude shows its true power in the midst of frustration, in the tension, in the pause after an argument.
Think about it:
Have you ever been in a relationship—whether with someone else or even with yourself—where frustration boiled over? Where the clash felt too big to move through?
And yet, once the storm passed, didn’t you feel a little lighter? A little more at peace? Maybe even more connected than before?
That’s the beauty of gratitude. It transforms conflict into clarity. It turns friction into fuel for growth.
The truth is, everything makes us grateful if we’re willing to see it.
We’ve heard people talk about “unconditional love.” But what if we looked at it differently?
What if every condition was love?
The joy and the struggle. The laughter and the tears. The silence and the arguments. The romance and the realness.
Love isn’t just found in the easy moments—it’s found in all conditions. Because love is who we are.
And when we stop resisting the truth of what’s happening, we discover that every single condition—even the hard ones—is a gateway back to love.
We want to share a story.
A few years ago, we stumbled across a small vegan spot in Toronto called Mavericks. The owner, Daryl, was behind the counter. We struck up a conversation and found out he was a former accountant who had traded in spreadsheets for burgers and vision.
He started Mavericks in the middle of COVID. Talk about courage. When the world shut down, he opened his doors. And for years, he kept showing up—resilient, persevering, determined.
By the time we met him, he had already survived what most restaurants couldn’t.
Eventually, the restaurant closed. But what stayed with us wasn’t the food—it was Daryl’s spirit. His willingness to risk, to create, to love people through food in a time when the world felt so divided.
For that, we are forever grateful.
Daryl, wherever you are—you are seen. You are loved. You are remembered.
Take a deep breath.
Sit tall. Relax your shoulders. Feel the rhythm of your heart.
With every inhale, breathe in gratitude. With every exhale, release resistance.
Notice your body—the miracle of your lungs, the beat of your heart, the gift of being alive.
Let gratitude rise, not as a thought but as a presence.
Every breath is a wonder. Every heartbeat is a gift. Every moment is an opportunity to choose love.
Stay here for a few moments.
Let gratitude fill you.
When you’re ready, carry it with you into the rest of your day.
So let us ask you:
👉 Have you ever gone through a moment of frustration—whether with someone else or within yourself—only to find gratitude and peace on the other side?
We’d love to hear your story.
Because when we share our gratitude, we remind each other that we’re not alone. We discover the soul within us all.
At Discovered Souls, our mission is simple: to share gratitude worldwide. Not just in the good times, but in all conditions.
Every soul. Every story. Every moment.
That’s what our 10,000 Grateful Souls mission is all about.
Together, we rise. Together, we give thanks. Together, we choose love—right here, right now.
With love and gratitude,
Alex and Sackeria Dezan
