Today, we’re feeling extra grateful as we share the story of Grateful Soul #5—Jewryd.
We met Jewryd at a breakfast spot called Eggspectation. From the moment he approached our table, something felt different. He wasn’t just working—he was serving with presence. There was a calm, caring energy to him that set the tone for the entire experience. He was diligent, kind, attentive, and fully present in every interaction. It’s rare to feel that seen and cared for, even in small, everyday moments. That’s what made this one so memorable.
Jewryd didn’t just serve food—he served heart. He smiled every time he approached. He was timely with our order, engaged us in meaningful conversation, and made us feel like more than customers. He made us feel like people. Like family. And that kind of connection, no matter how brief, has the power to shift your entire day.
One detail we especially loved was the way his name was spelled—“Jewryd.” A unique twist on the more common “Jared.” It was a subtle reminder to us that everyone has a story. Everyone is distinct in their own way. And that difference isn’t just to be accepted—it’s to be celebrated. Names carry energy, and his carried grace.
We gave him a small gratitude card that read: Never Ever Give Up. And honestly, that’s exactly how he showed up—resilient and joyful. His presence felt like a lived expression of that message. He stayed centered, compassionate, and upbeat, even when things got busy around him.
It’s moments like these that remind us: gratitude isn’t only reserved for big milestones. It lives in the ordinary. It breathes through the people who cross our paths, even if only for a moment. Some of the most impactful souls we meet are those we only share a few minutes with. A quick smile. A shared laugh. A kind word. These encounters matter. These are the stories we carry.
Jewryd reminded us of that. He reminded us to slow down and see people. Not for what they do—but for who they are. His humility and kindness were a light, not just to us, but to everyone in the room.
What stood out most is that he didn’t have to do anything extra. He just had to be himself. And being himself was more than enough. That’s what made it so powerful.
We often talk about gratitude as something we choose to express—but sometimes, gratitude chooses us. It wells up naturally in your chest when someone touches your heart. And when it does, we believe it’s our responsibility to share it. To reflect it back. That’s why we’re writing this. We want Jewryd—and anyone reading this—to know: your presence matters. You never know who’s being impacted by your light.
To Jewryd:
Thank you.
For your heart. For your effort. For your attention to detail.
For showing us that even in a world that moves fast, it’s still possible to slow down and care.
You are valued. You are appreciated. You are remembered.
Please don’t stop being who you are. Your light is rare—and the world needs more of it.
